What if the Roe v. Wade decision was leaked by a justice to give states time to pass their own anti-abortion laws and as a signal to the ultra-right that LGBTQ+ rights are next?
it seems unlikely it was leaked specifically to signal anything past “ban abortion when this goes into effect”, but the writing is pretty obviously on the wall since 1) alito has made it very clear he thinks that sodomy should be illegal and so should gay marriage even before writing this ruling; and 2) there are five votes to the right of john roberts on gay rights on the supreme court now
