Peltola narrowly won a special election that was determined by a ranked-choice voting tabulation. She will become the first Alaska Native in Congress.

    although peltola will only serve for about 4 months (unless she’s elected in the november general election), this is a big breakthrough for democrats in the state. she is also the first alaska native to be elected to the house of representatives.
