This is not really news, but good proof of bad conduct

Been arguing with folks for months that this was the plan all along, and was told how if Israel had wanted to, they would have already.
Feels both good and awful to be proven right about this.
That’s what I heard Neytaniahu sold on his election campaign: to take Gaza for Israel, and that’s what his voters are demanding from him
- Zuberi 👀 ( @Zuberi@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) 2•6 months ago
Luckily most of Israel isn’t going to vote for him again.
But that’s what Israeli wants…they will vote on someone who can fullfil the same promise
- Zuberi 👀 ( @Zuberi@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) 3•6 months ago
Nah mate. Just not true. Millions of them have been protesting Bibi’s horrible leadership decisions here
- NoneOfUrBusiness ( @NoneOfUrBusiness@kbin.social ) 6•6 months ago
They’ve been protesting against him because he violated their security and democracy, not because he’s committing genocide. 80% of them (including 88% of Jewish Israelis) are perfectly fine with that part.
- Zuberi 👀 ( @Zuberi@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) 5•6 months ago
Be careful with the us vs them mentality here.
They’re not all genocidal war mongers whether we think that or not.
- NoneOfUrBusiness ( @NoneOfUrBusiness@kbin.social ) 6•6 months ago
I mean I’m quoting numbers from two weeks ago. I’d love to think that the number of people who support genocide in Israel is less than that, but you can’t argue with evidence.
This is new for me. I know they are against his methods, but for his goals of taking territory.
Could you show me a source so I can learn that I was mistaken? Thanks

While they have to support their claim that people are protesting, you also have burden of proof for claiming netanyahu made gaza a campaign promise.

From his reelection in 2022:
Netanyahu’s government published its platform, which stated that “the Jewish people have exclusive and indisputable rights” over the entirety of Israel and the Palestinian territories and will advance settlement construction in the occupied West Bank.

You’d think that, of all the peoples of the world, the one people who’d least want to be, who’d know better, the agents of genocide and forced migration would be der Juden.
- Umbrias ( @Umbrias@beehaw.org ) 9•6 months ago
It’s called “the cycle of violence” not “the self declining line of violence”. It’s easy to be violent over past suffering.
- deadbeef79000 ( @deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz ) 5•6 months ago
Actually, yeah. It’s pretty obvious when you put it in those terms.
I was just hoping that “I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy” would have more inertia.
- NoneOfUrBusiness ( @NoneOfUrBusiness@kbin.social ) 5•6 months ago
Man genocide and forced migration had been the Zionist plan since 1917, and if you let something like a genocide get you behind schedule you won’t get any settler colonialism done.

How are they taught about that stuff in Israeli schools? If it’s just Germany bad, Jew good. Then that is probably not helpful.

Did Gantz attend? He is the likely successor of Netanyahu.
4/5 parties within the coalition attended. Some of those parties would be in any new coalition. But does attending mean endorsing?
