• an interesting story, framed around the significance of the Oakland A’s–the city’s last remaining pro sports team after the Raiders left for Las Vegas, and the Warriors moved across the bay to San Francisco–to Oakland and the political wrangling and cultural consequences of their ongoing question of whether or not to jump ship for the another city and their stadium, or to hold out hope for Oakland to pump funding into a new or better stadium for them (at the potential expense of solving many of Oakland’s other problems, some of which are decidedly more pressing than the baseball team).
