I was once paid in crypto, but converted it to reg money immediately

  • I used to avoid it as much as possible, but ever since ETH stopped being a “mining” coin I’ve begun to use it for digital goods and services, usually with folks in a different country who don’t have an easier method. The fees are ridiculous, but it works.

    I don’t ever own more than $100 and I spend it as quickly as I can, in the full knowledge that these transactions are public and easily traceable back to my name.

  • I’ve used bitcoin to pay for hosting services, more because I could than anything. There’s fewer guarantees than with credit cards but I have to say that, for smaller amounts, it’s more comfortable than handing over card details.

    I can understand why you converted immediately. Unless you’re willing to keep it speculatively, i.e. you don’t care about volatility, then it’s just sensible.
