I wonder how these gaps look like for queer couples and couples of all orientations which don’t have children. I suspect in general women and feminine aligned individuals still do more overall social support work because they learn of its importance and socially reinforce more than men and masculine individuals, but it’s an interesting question to try and unwind the root causes.
