in case people are curious, here are some of the major differences between the WGA’s wants and the media companies/studios they’re bargaining with, courtesy of Adam Conover. seems like the media companies/studios didn’t even really try to bargain in good faith, so hopefully they eat shit here

Silly idea: Like in other industries, production companies could contract temporary replacements from “cheap” countries. I’d watch The Late Show written by an all-Vietnamese crew, starring a Ghanan comedian.

as a point of reference the 2007 strike lasted about 100 days, so yeah, it’s likely we’re going to be here for awhile
