Haven’t M-to-F transgender individuals been an accepted part of Thai society for a while now? One would think that LGBTQ+ rights wouldn’t be a hard sell in Thailand, but I’m far from an expert when it comes to their culture and politics. Regardless, it’s a positive sign for the country.
it’s definitely complicated; Wikipedia gives a decent overview of the country’s progress in that particular facet. without question it’s more accepting than most countries, but overall i’d say it’s still… not great
