to the surprise of nobody–for as much performative outrage as these states (and the groups supporting them) make about supporting mothers, the ultimate goal of “women should be second class citizens and confined to certain roles expected of their sex and gender” remains the same and is upheld by the lack of safety net afforded to american women.
