The type of thing where someone in a general school chat promotes something like the nft collection they are minting and you want to passively aggresivelly respond
- mrbubblesort ( @mrbubblesort@kbin.social ) 33•11 months ago
Yeah, concern trolling is great for this. “Oh my god, Jennifer’s account has been hacked by some bot selling essential oils! Someone should call her up and tell her so she can change her password.”
That’s a really good one
- TheOakTree ( @TheOakTree@lemm.ee ) 45•11 months ago
“Pretty sure that’s a bot everybody, careful what links you click”
I’ll start. “Ah, someone got their account stolen”
- CeruleanRuin ( @CeruleanRuin@lemmings.world ) English3•11 months ago
“FYI, some troll hacked your account and is posting stupid shit.”

I can’t tell you how much I care what you think. Thanks very much for sharing!
If everyone was as perfect as you, the world would be a very boring place.
Wow. Thousands of years, billions of humans. And I got lucky to find the one human who is the pinnacle of evolution, who possesses all knowledge, has unlocked the secrets of the universe. How did you achieve this? Please, tell me your secret.

This one even has a bunch of great gifs to supplement it if they insist on engaging.

“Cool! What are they for?”
- BolexForSoup ( @BolexForSoup@kbin.social ) 9•11 months ago
A simple “no thanks“ will accomplish that and more. They know exactly what you’re saying because every crypto bro is incredibly defensive, but your plausible deniability is basically 100% airtight and the more they push back against it the more it’ll make others walk away. You just have to 100% lie to their face and say you meant nothing by it.

If it’s a conservative or religious person trying to justify something:
“That’s really interesting, why do you think –insert brief summary of their topic/first sentence– ?”
Continue this until they realize they’ve either painted themselves into a corner or they realize I’m trolling them several monologues/pages later. It’s the uno reverso card when they try wasting my time.

“Let’s change the subject.”
- Lvxferre ( @lvxferre@lemmy.ml ) 7•11 months ago
None. I hate pass-aggro; I’d rather be dry (bald-on record) or upfront (plain aggro).
What I’d do in this case depends mostly on
- if I trust some person in power to handle this shit in a smart way. Either one in charge of the group or the school.
- how insistent the NFT scammer is.
- how much I care about other people in the group that might fall for the NFT scam.
For #2 and #3, on best hypothesis (no insistence + I don’t care about others) I’d simply answer “not interested”. However, get me motivated enough and I’ll be rather colourful with language usage, to the best that the platform allows me. Such as:
As I already bloody said over and over and over and over, I do not want your NFT bullshit. “No” means “no” for anyone with basic reading comprehension, unlike you. Your NFTs have zero intrinsic value. You might be able to convince some goddamn morons to join your pyramid scheme, but I’m not doing it. Is this clear??? Stop insisting and fuck off.
Further links for anyone interested: [link associating NFT bullshit to pyramid schemes], [Wikipedia link explaining pyramid schemes] I heavily recommend you guys to read this before buying anything from this guy.
Followed by blocking the moron for the sake of my own sanity.

A lot of the people I encounter are hypochondriacs, and someone asked me if it was me being caring or me being passive-aggressive that I can be found telling them all the things they didn’t know they might have. I paused for a moment and replied “…maybe.”

I usually ask worthless people to check out reddit. Does that count?

People get pretty pissed over the “Rammus OK” emote after every message.
