If the reporting user has a problem with the headline, they should take it up with the originating publication who actually provide a link at the bottom of the article for complaints.

hmm overall i agree with this

This post was reported as:

This is misinfo: misleading headline, article is about how the story is making waves in the us, presumably only in reactionary circles. Kid was suspended, and returned to school to harass people

Seems like the reporting user would be satisfied if the headline was changed to better reflect the article?

But i asked the reporter to come to this comment section and elaborate.

Assuming the other mods don’t action this first.

Slrpnk.net ownership transfer to poVoq and will survive the upcoming march 2023 instance purge
Small meta update: [@ex_06@slrpnk.net](https://slrpnk.net/u/ex_06) transferred the ownership of the slrpnk.net domain to me today. I hope he will be still around as an admin, but as we are preparing to migrate this Lemmy instance to my server it is easier that I am also in control of the domain. There might be some outage while the domain is being transferred to my DNS registrar. **Sometimes before March 2023 we need to transfer the actual instance from the current hosting kindly provided by the Lemmy developers (the one year free offer)**. I hope to be able to provide an as good if not better hosting (also within the EU), but it remains to be seen how that works out. In case you are wondering: I am just some guy hosting various FOSS stuff privately, so no commercial entity or anything like that involved. Given that this will be technically a transfer of personal data under the GDPR regulations (and Lemmy doesn't have any specific GDPR compliance tools) I would like to kindly ask people with a slrpnk.net account to object here in the comments if they do not agree to me taking over. In that case I will remove their account from the database once I transfer it to my server. Or even better: just delete your account in the coming weeks. Once things are safely transferred I will probably look into enabling additional services. My initial plan is to make XMPP chat rooms and maybe linked accounts available under the same domain. Oh and if you are an active member and are interested in becoming an slrpnk.net admin please send me a DM. No need to be a sysadmin, as moderation etc. also needs additional help. For now there is no option or need to donate, but I might put up a small donation link in the future if there is a demand for it. - povoq

#Fediblock v J doe
A few days ago, a page was published in the Fediverse where you could check which Mastodon instance is blocking whom in the Fediverse. This was made possible by a programmer who used the new Mastodon API introduced in 4.0 and automatically read out the blacklists of the instances. The reaction to the page was quickly visible, especially in the hash tag #FediBlock. There, the first administrators began to demonize the page and cried about how it would allow them to read their blocklists. Not only that the blocklists are publicly viewable, but that it tastes like a filth that #FediBlock apparently thinks it’s okay to publish blacklists with hatespeech-like reasoning to denounce, but won’t allow anyone to use their blacklist to point out which instance is blocking which. Thus, it clearly shows again that #FediBlock is solely a pillory to those who seem to have achieved nothing in their lives. However, the information about who blocks whom is in many ways more than just interesting for those who want to choose an instance. As it was already written in a German thread about the topic, it would be helpful to know whether you reach your target group at all, if you register on an instance. The fact that #FediBlock is so hostile toward this doesn’t exactly represent the transparency they’re aiming for, but rather anarchy/dictatorship. And exactly for transparency reasons, I’m glad that I was able to download this list early enough to make it available to you. For those who now want to complain to me, because I have published this without their “consent”, please send an e-mail to , the request will then be forwarded to my lawyer! And those who are so hungry for consent, you should think about whether you #FediBlocker have the consent for your nonsense? -- J doe retrieved this deleted post from the modlog

Ideally stumbled across by accident, ideally not set up on purpose. Ex someone shares a chinese military demo and there happens to be a block of 69 soldiers standing in the frame. New cummunity: Instance Simulator!
Instance Simulator is suppose to be a fully-automated subsection on lemmy featuring posts and comments generated by bot accounts using Markov chain randomization processes. In practice, it distills the raw essence of each fediverse app/lemmyverse instance into posts/comments. Ain't anyone got the skill to make this, so we do it the old fashion way. How to: 1. Unless you're using a novelty acct, tag what instance your imitating ex, [beehaw] 2. Imitate. Try not to get cancelled, ex don't imitate the rightwing instances - we already know what a generic rightwing posts look like :p
