Steam link/remote play works well as long as your connection is good. Unfortunately mine is a bit spotty where my device is so I tend to lag a bit with it.

Steam set to launch in big picture mode is nice if you can run it on whatever you’re using. I’m also looking for more apps so I hope more people reply.

It’s not a bad set up at all. There are some additional codecs you will want to get if you have an Nvidia GPU, but there are plenty of guides on that.

Bazzite is an atomic distro with a focus on gaming and based on fedora silverblue. I’m currently running it on my main gaming rig and it’s very nice. It is more complete out of the box than fedora but installing something like bigscreen will probably be more difficult. Although, I bet it’s possible. I haven’t tried to figure it out though.

I literally just finished doing this over the weekend. I went with fedora since I find it more stable and easier to use than the other distros plasma bigscreen works on. There have been a few bugs when using a controller but other than that it works great! I highly recommend it.

Rent an isolated cabin far out in the woods, buy anything I can think of that would help me last indefinitely out there, get enough supplies for the short term, then pack it all in the truck and gtfo with my cat in the passenger seat.

A copy of Pokemon Yellow I got when I was a little kid. My dad bought a gameboy bag that had a few games in it for like $5 from his coworker. Pokemon was basically my childhood, I loved playing it.

I honestly think it’s the best distro so far. Which sucks since it is so reliant on RedHat. I prefer to avoid corporate related distros like Fedora and Ubuntu, but I must admit they have a better experience right out of the box. I still want to give NixOS a try and maybe Gentoo, but after that I will probably come back to Fedora just like you…until something I think might be better comes along.

If they never hit you then you don’t need it

It’s the first distro I’ve tried where everything just works right out of the box and nothing is overly bloated. All of the software I use was available from the Bazzar and my printer even worked right away. No fiddling with CUPS or trying to install from binary/tar/appimg/etc.

If you’re looking for something that won’t give you any headaches then I wholeheartedly recommend Bazzite. IMO it’s the best distro for the casual user.

I’ve also been interested in NixOS lately for the ability to easily transfer and back up the config, but I have yet to make that jump. It seems like a really great way to set up an OS though.

She is generally uninterested in most things I watch but this past week she was particularly interested in the Star Trek TNG episode I was watching, for some reason.

I shower regularly now but a few years ago I had major depression and stopped showering for months. I could barely motivate myself to breathe. I’m not even kidding, I was so depressed I was struggling to breathe. People don’t realize just how much effort it takes to do basic things like eat, brush your teeth, or even get out of bed when you have no will to be alive.

Even so, no one ever commented on it. Not even close family. I’ve always had super dry skin and I noticed that during this period my skin was actually somewhat normal. It’s possible no one said anything out of kindness but I doubt it tbh. Some people just sweat/smell less than others.

I feel like this is something they would do with Mt. Dew. I would also try it at least once.

Maybe we could just saw it off. It’s kinda just hanging there like a festering limb.

If you’re making minimum wage in the US you can’t even afford to exist, let alone have a subscription service of any kind.

I’m not an expert on this subject or anything but from my understanding Caddy would still use your IP address. Using Pangolin with a VPS would give your website the VPS’s ip which is better for security reasons.

Might have to type “Pangolin software” but it essentially functions as a reverse proxy as well as a VPN to hide your home network IP when paired with a VPS.

Personally I prefer being able to just give someone a link without getting them to download and use a VPN. That’s why I went with Pangolin since it essentially functions as both.

I’ve been enjoying using Finamp for my Jellyfin server, although you will need a proxy if you want to use it outside of your home network. I’m paying $7 a month (it used to be $5 😭) for a VPS that’s running Pangolin tunneled to my home server running Jellyfin. It’s basically my own private Spotify/Netflix/Audible. There are also free options like Nginx for the proxy.

Pros:

• Open source with desktop/web/android apps
• Free/cheap once set up
• Functions like major streaming services but doesn’t come with their bullshit
• You have complete control over everything since it is self-hosted

Cons:

• Set up can be tough depending on your skill level
• Requires your own home server PC
• You must add all of your own content, be it through torrenting, ripping CDs, etc.

I always try WELCOME5 or some other variant to see if I’m lucky that day. I have yet to be lucky.
