Just created an issue about this on URLCheck’s GitHub.

‘nix-store --gc --print-dead’ does that already and ‘nix-collect-garbage --dry-run’ prints only the number of paths that will be deleted and does not display the correct size of it either. I had tried it and it won’t work here.

As nutbutter@discuss.tchncs.de said, maybe your wife had activated backups and you did not have any knowledge of it (and maybe she forgot about enabling it as well)?

But if what you say is true, that sounds horrifying. Meta should get in trouble for this.
