This kind of thinking costed us Apu Nahassapeenapettalon... 😢 Sometimes people of different ethnicity than the portrayed character are just chosen cause they were good at playing it. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm not against using the right ethnicity either, often it's the best course of action, especially in big productions where money for another actor other than the ones of wrong ethnicity that you got is not a biggie (and even then I'd prefer best actor over right ethnicity tbh), but for smaller ones: if you need ex. 15 actors and you have 15 actors, any ethnicity needed that you don't have can also be acted if done well rather than just not doing it at all cause you can't pay a 5th stranger to fill the role to fit ethnicity... When it's just for racial selection and not for quality, imho we should not enforce it as a complete must. It's called acting for a reason. It used to allow you to be anyone, but today's world is limiting that to just their own randomly given ethnicity (or any non-existing one) which in my book is more racist than what we are attacking... Judging movies cause of the color of an actor's skin (related to the role they play or not) kinda seems worse to me... 🤷♂️ And for the men cast as women part, you should watch Monty Python or Little Britain or things alike, they might be comedy but they did exactly that... 😅

I believe that Michael Burnham has saved the entire universe no less than three times now and they decided a 4th time would be frankly ridiculous. I’m really gonna miss that brilliantly written cast of supporting characters like Saru…pilot woman, navigator woman, science man, Stamets, the Trill lass and Tilly.
