Mastodon is slightly harder to use than Twitter or Bluesky so Mastodon categorically can never see widespread use under our current society. Some people in the fediverse have decided that's ok, and say they don't want normies here. You seem to feel the opposite. As such, you must accept that nothing will change until we make it exactly as easy to sign up and use as something like Twitter. Step 1: enter email and password Step 2: start browsing Any attempt to add a step in-between is doomed to failure. Unless you're suggesting we upend all of society.
