criitz ( @criitz@reddthat.com ) 11•1 year agoI use flat surfaces after learning it tends to leave less shell bits than doing it on an edge
Eagle0600 ( @Eagle0600@yiffit.net ) English11•1 year agoYeah, I just do mine on the countertop.
I_am_10_squirrels ( @I_am_10_squirrels@beehaw.org ) 8•1 year agoSmash it on my forehead. The egg goop runs down my face into my mouth. I eat the egg raw, shell and all. Then I do a primal yell and bust out another set of 20 reps. #legday
🐝bownage [they/he] ( @bownage@beehaw.org ) 8•1 year agoFlatter surface = better crack
cassie 🐺 ( @eupraxia@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) English8•1 year agoI crunch it in my mouth and spit it into the pan
TheAlbatross ( @TheAlbatross@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 7•1 year agoSmack em on the counter on the top and bottom, then roll em on the counter, pressing firmly with the palm to make a ton of little cracks. They’ll peel easily under water now no issue.
If you wanna be flashy, break a small hole in one end, put your mouth on it and blow hard, POP! NUDE EGG
Mesophar ( @Mesophar@lemm.ee ) 23•1 year agoEveryone else talking about raw eggs, I just had a mental image of someone completely splattering an egg on their counter
TheAlbatross ( @TheAlbatross@lemmy.blahaj.zone ) 5•1 year agoLmao fuck I was confused by the responses too as I had been assuming hard boiled eggs.
Tho I do Crack raw eggs on the counter then into a bowl with one hand, checking for blood spots. With a little practice, it’s quick and easy.
hallettj ( @hallettj@beehaw.org ) English6•1 year agoIf I’m doing more than one cracking two together is best. For the last one, countertop.
I get the flat, inside-the-sink idea. But I’d want to clean either way, and I clean the counters more often than I clean the sides of the sink.
spujb ( @spujb@lemmy.cafe ) English6•1 year agoteeth
odium ( @odium@programming.dev ) 5•1 year agoBowl, counter, spoon/fork/knife, rim of pan.
Just whatever is handy st the time.
Baggins [he/him] ( @baggins@lemmy.ca ) English5•1 year agoI get a bowl and crack it on the outside of the bowl (not the rim) then put it into the bowl to check for shells before it goes into wherever it needs to be.
I typically use the edge of a knife to crack the eggs, not a very sharp one but sharper than a butter knife. It makes the shell open much more easily and without shards than it would when taping on a bowl or the counter.
🇰 🌀 🇱 🇦 🇳 🇦 🇰 🇮 🏆 ( @Kolanaki@yiffit.net ) English3•1 year agoA complicated hand gesture in which I hold the egg between my forefinger, ring finger and thumb and flick it with my middle finger.
WanderingVentra ( @WanderingVentra@lemm.ee ) 2•1 year agoI’m a corner of the sink man myself. Sometimes the counter top if I get lazy.
