Maybe it’s a misplaced modifier, like, the husband was with a squirrel, then she stabbed him.
Or maybe she fashioned a dagger out of a squirrel carcass.

A shiv made from the bones of the squirrel? Or the squirrel was agitated from being picked up started biting him once shoved at him? Or anything with sufficient velocity does have the ability to pierce a body in most cases.
