Meta claims torrenting pirated books isn’t illegal without proof of seeding
I’m half meming with the title but at the same time Meta publicly claiming that pirating books isn’t illegal if there’s no proof of seeding seems real ridiculous
Zuck continues to display true idiocy at work:

merthyr1831 ( @merthyr1831@lemmy.ml ) English2•2 months agoIs it that new? For the most part, the only people getting targeted with more than stern letters from their ISPs nowadays are members of cracking/release groups, or hosts of trackers themselves.
Im sorta worried if they do get punished for it, because if anything that’ll make the precedent to punish torrenters over the current precedent of targeting original uploaders.

Universal Monk ( @UniversalMonk@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) English2•2 months agoI’m actually cool with this.
