This seems more like UK Gov vs. WhatsApp.
Nice Signal are also holding their ground but they are a little fish in a big pond. The Government uses WhatApp heavily and there have been quite a few leaks, assume they would love a wee backdoor.

I’m not saying there isn’t a backdoor, but I can comfortably say that the user who posted that is nuts.
Well I don’t trust a guy that has 50 million reasons to put in a backdoor. I use skred, you decide what you use yourself.
