Low- to moderate-income Melburnians are being priced out of “affordable” housing, according to new research.

Try 12ft.io if you’re having issues reading. This really underscores the utter failure of Victoria’s affordable housing model - well, unless you’re an housing developer - and it should be ringing alarm bells that the current intention is to repeat the model nationally.
The one good thing about these policies is they are bypassing a lot of council regulations to increase supply but the “affordable” rentals are probably pretty marginal benefit and it’s likely just low income kids who’s parents are supporting them.
