Whenever dysphoria rears its ugly head and attempts to make question who and what I am, this is what I remind me of: I no longer feel restricted by masculinity, I am free to be soft and vulnerable and indulge in cute and feminine stuff as I always wished I could. That never fails to remind me that my transition was the right thing to do, even on a bad day.

I think there are communities which have managed to pull it off: While the Wikipedia usually gets in the news when drama happens, most of the time its community is very much working collaboratively to improve the Wikipedia.

I am not a therapist. But as far as I know it ultimately depends on the individual what can and cannot be handled. Self harm and suicidal ideation do not have to be the same thing, though they sometimes go together. But suicidal ideation is definitely a warning sign that nobody should take lightly, though it is possible to learn to “manage” these thoughts if they persist.
