Started looking at some Reddit alternatives today with the upcoming change to API policy. This seems like a cool option that lines up with my values. Super pumped to find a hockey community here as that was my main interest on Reddit. Still trying to figure out exactly how to use Lemmy, so any tips would be appreciated! Any team specific communities? I’m a leafs fan for reference

Also, it works pretty much like Reddit. You can sort by New, Hot etc., but you can also filter whether you see posts from communities you’re subscribed to, from all communities in your instance, or from all currently federated communities from any instance. Communities and instances have mods and sidebar, and there is a public modlog so everyone can see what actions have been recently taken. You can also create communities and moderate them yourself.
