minus-square mtchristo ( @mtchristo@lemm.ee ) linkfedilink2•1 year agoThere isn’t a hardware panel nor a proper task manager nor a GUI registery editor.
minus-square meteokr ( @meteokr@community.adiquaints.moe ) linkfedilink5•1 year agoWell Linux doesn’t have a registry, so an editor would also not exist, to be fair.
minus-square lastweakness ( @lastweakness@lemm.ee ) linkfedilink2•1 year agodconf editor is kinda like regedit for GNOME apps ig?
minus-square meteokr ( @meteokr@community.adiquaints.moe ) linkfedilink1•1 year agoIn a hand wavy way, yes. You are just editing the settings of one suite of software, not really an OS “registry”. Closest to that in Linux is editing /etc, but even then, not all software is configured there.
minus-square grue ( @grue@lemmy.ml ) linkfedilink1•edit-21 year agoNot for long if Lennart has anything to say about it, I’m sure.
minus-square Holzkohlen ( @Holzkohlen@feddit.de ) linkfedilink4•1 year agoI disagree on the task manager. I like the KDE Plasma monitor application for instance. Very convenient way to sigterm or sigkill.
minus-square noughtnaut ( @noughtnaut@beehaw.org ) linkfedilink2•1 year agoAgreed, and if you’re not on KDE then htop will do just fine.
