This is a little old, but only just heard of this term of “low-conscientiousness conservatives” from YouTuber Leeja Miller.
“In newly published research, we found that it’s not conservatives in general who tend to promote false information, but rather a smaller subset of them who also share two psychological traits: low levels of conscientiousness and an appetite for chaos.”
I appreciate them attempting to be scientific in a very messy space. But polling and surveys are notoriously unreliable for quite a few years now. There’s many reasons for this, but one is pretty simple: people lie. Everyone is trying to play shitty little manipulation games on each other. It’s a post-truth world, unfortunately.
You’d be surprised about how accurate scientific surveys are. The worst surveys are only 10% points off from real world data lol.
Unless you’re gaming the survey like magazines do, real world studies aren’t off by much.

Conscientiousness is one of the big five and is very well modeled.
