I know I’m way too late, but seeing people ask for Otautahi makes me wonder if it would have been heckin cool to have Te Wai Pounamu, te whanaganui a tara and so forth for our regional stuff
We can’t change the URL but I’m pretty sure I can change the displayed name if there’s agreement. i.e. it will always be !southisland@lemmy.nz (unless we create a second community), but we can make the displayed name say something different. This is probably actually good for searching anyway.
