Now that the Maharlika fund bill is waiting for the president’s signature. Was curious what c/Philippines think of it in general. Personally I don’t support it, it feels like we sign on something very sketchy it has pork barrel-ish feel to it. I feel concern for the banks e.g. Landbank who will be forced to invest which risk government employees source of salary. I don’t understand why they want it now, when we are debt ridden.

  • I just had a discussion regarding the bill with a relative who works in the senate. Ang hirap daw i-oppose ng bill kasi majority of the people in the government right now are supporting it. May amendments pa naman daw na gagawin before the next hearing in July but I don’t think it’s a guarantee that the money will be used in an honest way.

I asked about the status of SOGIE and Divorce Bill and they said malabo daw pumasa kasi super conservative ng current lawmakers and decision-makers. We can only dream of progress for now :((
