minus-square Metal Zealot ( @Metal_Zealot@lemmy.ml ) linkfedilink4•11 months ago2024 will be the year of remasters, just watch. Originality and the ability to care are dead in the game industry

I’m sure there are others. I think the remastering trend has already well been on its way, we’re just seeing it happen to “important” ones now
minus-square Metal Zealot ( @Metal_Zealot@lemmy.ml ) linkfedilink5•11 months agoTLOU is setting a new ridiculous precedent for remasters. Fallout 4 remastered is on the way already
minus-square averyminya ( @averyminya@beehaw.org ) linkfedilink4•11 months agoI’d argue that the TLOU remaster was more about it getting a PC port after a decade. The precedent it sets with complete jank on the other hand! Bethesda, they’re just a mess overall. Lol. Is it even a remaster if it’s still on creation engine? Note; I don’t disagree about remastering being big this upcoming year. I just think it’s been a long time coming already
