defeating this was a priority campaign of Maine DSA (and there was plenty of landlord fearmongering about the chapter), and they’ve successfully obliterated this referendum. it’s losing 67-33!

      that’s correct. Maine DSA got that cap on the ballot last year as part of a slate of reforms they wanted in the city and while most of the others failed, the one which established this cap passed with 57% of the vote!
