[SOLVED] - Lemmy doesn’t notify you if the username is taken and just hangs indefinitely if it is taken. Just an fyi to anybody else who’s having issues signing up for a Lemmy instance.

Title says it all. I’ve tried multiple browsers, restarting, flushing dns and everything else I can think to troubleshoot this on my end. Whenever I try to sign up it just hangs infinitely on the page that I took a screenshot of, with the submit button spinning.

How can I join this side of lemmy? Lemmy.world is pretty good but I would like to be in an instance that is defederated from lemmygrad please lol

    First post, thanks for this thread. I tried signing up using mobile browser, but the button was spinning forever. Checking the user page helped confirm that it was not created, so I switched to sign up with desktop browser and got a “Application accepted” message, then the user page was created!
