If newcomers can’t find the right jobs, lack “Canadian experience” and are struggling with the high cost of living, what’s to keep them from giving up?
Unfortunately, nothing new here… 20 years ago you could take a taxi and be greated by a PhD immigrant driving it. I know dozens of French immigrants who returned home. About 50% go back in the 1st year, another 40% in the following 2 to 10 years. After 10 years only 10% of the immigrants are still in Canada. 90% left.
