[SOLVED] - Lemmy doesn’t notify you if the username is taken and just hangs indefinitely if it is taken. Just an fyi to anybody else who’s having issues signing up for a Lemmy instance.

Title says it all. I’ve tried multiple browsers, restarting, flushing dns and everything else I can think to troubleshoot this on my end. Whenever I try to sign up it just hangs infinitely on the page that I took a screenshot of, with the submit button spinning.

How can I join this side of lemmy? Lemmy.world is pretty good but I would like to be in an instance that is defederated from lemmygrad please lol

    I am having the same issue. I signed up a couple days ago, got the eternal spinny, tried again several times. finally today I just used a different email and tried again and got approved right away. when I search I can see the account was created but get the spinny when I try to login. I tried to reset my password and it went to the email I used so I know it’s not someone else’s account. resetting my password didn’t fix it either.
