A few years ago I learned that the big plant a few hundred feet away from the apartments I grew up in was a uranium fuel rod plant, and after it was torn down we used to sneak in and slide down the big dirt mounds on cardboard.
The reason they left the dirt mounds for those years was because of the contamination in the soil they had to air ou. Now they aren’t allowed to build housing because of the ground water there so they built a shopping center there as people shouldn’t be there for extended periods of time
Is this guy living near a failed nuclear power plant?

Nah it’s biohazard. If I had to guess I’d go for upcoming zombie apocalypse ground zero.
Zombies can be animated from magic, drugs, radiation or bioagents. The Chernobyl exclusion zone is a nexus of wandering zombies.
