Technically he isn’t (but just barely). Tama Tonga went unchanged, but Tanga Loa was changed to Tonga Loa. Which given Talla and Tama both having Tonga as a (work) last name, it’s surprising they didn’t give him the ‘Loa Tonga’ treatment to keep them all straight but it’s WWE when does making sense occur lol.
I somehow missed that, but I rarely pay attention to the chyron/name palate that pops up naming people. Such an odd thing to do unless they couldn’t trademark it or maybe they just found out it could be offensive as kessleragain pointed out.
Silly theory: WWE browses Tumblr and that’s why they changed Tanga Loa to Tonga Loa.
Every time something happened to bring attention to him, I see helpful reminders on there to just use (hashtag) Tonga Loa, because Tanga is blocked as a tag on Tumblr. Something about it being a rude word in another language, I think.

Ya know, makes sense to me!
