To begin, I’m absolutely against this proposal, but I want to see a discussion - hopefully a constructive one - between Aussies (comments are always turned off for Australian news on YT) to gauge some idea of how people generally feel about the idea.

@Auzy the development may be worth pursuing in countries like finland that stockpile nuclear waste. Thorium reactors may be a way for them to use the spent uranium and make it less toxic as part of the fuel needed.
Australia on the other hand, has a surplus of solar. With enough investment, we could be an exporter of liquid hydrogen to run fuel cells. Or whatever the winning form of energy storage emerges…
