I’ve no doubt these people mean well (at least the genuine ones, not the Russian shills) but they really are misguided. The nuclear genie is out of the bottle. If we had never had our own, we would be part of the Soviet Union which would still exist and now encompass all of Europe.
We have to have a deterrent. The likes of Russia will never voluntarily give up their nuclear weapons because it shows them as strong and they want that above all else.

I’d normally agree, but this isn’t about an independent nuclear deterrent, it’s about a yank military base.
