• Yes. Agriculture is an industry.

Coincidentally, the development in painting techniques happened alongside the industrial revolution, so a lot of the art from the 1800s showing massive fields of agriculture and often regarded as “idyllic landscapes” have shaped the public opinion of what idyllic landscapes are.

The artists were really just documenting the achievements of an industry. While fields of crops appear pleasing to the eye in one or two months of the year, the idea of agriculture being idyllic is a two century old idea of “hey that’s a pretty neat painting” carried over through generations.

Agriculture is not idyllic. It’s literally spreading shit on the ground to prepare the soil for continuous abuse, instead of having actual idyllic nature.

Agriculture is creating a desert that fits a certain production.

I don’t mind a field of wheat existing. It makes sense to make bread. I do however mind having more than 70% of the available land taken over by very few individuals doing a very destructive industry.

We all know “fuckcars”, “fuckgolf” and “fucklawns” etc. , but if you want to fight against climate changes, I’m telling you that there’s a bigger enemy out there in plain view.
