i had a similar thought when i looked through the platform from the dnc and saw that all of the promises required a filibuster proof majority.

what they’re NOT saying/writing is where the devils lives:

    • kamala is going to win by a narrow margin; if she wins at all; which means that everyone else down ballot will likely fare the same; so none of that platform will become reality.

    • the democrats can change the filibuster rule at any time; but chose not to do so.

    • they’re ignoring the genocide to win; but win what?

    • We keep voting in slim margins. If we want an effective government we actually need to fill it with enough people who will work together.

Biden barely had the senate, including independents and 2 relatively conservative dems. The house was then lost and the house then did nothing productive.

The democrats are not a unified block because we have 2 parties for way too many views.

We need to overhaul the system to actually break the 2 party hold and that can unfortunately only happen if you vote in enough people who actually take up issues like removing first past the post, the electoral college, and trying to make mail in ballots easier, pushing for ranked choice voting so people could actually vote for candidates in the order of who they actually like the most.

Luckily some of this can be done state by state so keep track of local politics. Your state politicians can also make this better.
