I am writing to express my appreciation for Costco and the positive impact your company has had on Canadian consumers and employees alike. As a proud Canadian and long-time Costco member, I have always respected the values that Costco upholds—fair pricing, high-quality products, and ethical treatment of employees. These principles have made Costco a trusted name in households across the country.

One of the aspects that sets Costco apart is its commitment to being a responsible employer. The way you treat your employees, offering fair wages and benefits, has not gone unnoticed. Canadian workers are fortunate to have a company like Costco that values their contributions and well-being. This dedication to fairness and integrity has built a strong, loyal customer base here in Canada.

With that in mind, I encourage Costco to take its commitment to Canada even further by looking closer to home for goods and services. While I recognize the need for a diverse and global supply chain, I believe there is tremendous potential in further investing in Canadian businesses, suppliers, and manufacturers. Supporting local industries not only aligns with Costco’s values but also strengthens our economy and reinforces the trust and loyalty of Canadian members.  I know of several local organizations that are small but provide amazing products that would love an opportunity to be involved with your amazing organization.

Additionally, I believe it would be a powerful statement for Costco to relocate its corporate headquarters to Canada. Canadian values, such as fairness, worker protections, and ethical business practices, align more closely with Costco’s own beliefs than those reflected in the policies and direction of the American government. Given your strong commitment to Canadian workers and communities, such a move would reinforce Costco’s values and further demonstrate its dedication to ethical and responsible business practices. Canada offers a stable and business-friendly environment that aligns well with Costco’s long-term vision, and I strongly believe that such a shift would be both a strategic and symbolic step forward. I know the latter is not likely, but the situation between the United States and Canada is not ending soon.

I deeply appreciate everything Costco has done for Canadian consumers and employees, and I look forward to seeing how the company continues to evolve. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I hope you will explore these opportunities to strengthen your commitment to Canada even further.

Thank you for your time

  • I see a lot of people parroting this sentiment on reddit. Walmart bad, Costco good. Keep in mind that Costco in the US is removing Canadian products from their stores. I see Americans saying on a daily bases that they would like to support Canadians. Removing Canadian products from their stores is an active strike back at Canadians because there is a demand for those products.
