She is a strong black woman. That is reason enough for people. They will come up with other reasons, just like Hillary. You will hear a lot of “I will vote for a woman. Just not that woman.” Or, “I just don’t like her.” It’s all bullshit. They don’t want to promote a woman.

eh, I feel like using identity politics does just as much to disprove that point as it does to prove it in Kamala’s case. She absolutely is those things and they are certainly worth appreciating, but if that’s the lead of the story then it feels like she’s robbed of what would be her acquired merits.
