So there appear to be two brand new guitar communities, one here and one at midwest.social. I think we’re all probably getting used to how the fediverse version of this kind of social media works, so maybe two aren’t necessary?
Anyway, posting to both to see what kind of traction/interactions I get
This is a recent build I did, and it’s super fun to play:
- Warmoth neck
- Nomoonlaser body
- Bootstrap pickups
- Hipshot tuners
- Fender hardware otherwise, though the pickguard is from some random dude on ebay, and it thankfully fit perfectly.
Sweet guitar! I picked up a roasted maple Warmoth neck for my p-bass a couple years back and just love the look and feel. (I finished it with a few light coats of tru-oil, I think it’s called?)
As for the two communities thing, I actually don’t think it’s worth sweating over… There could be 10 separate guitar communities across lemmy/kbin/whatever, but once you subscribe to them all you’re going to see them all pooled together into your subscribed view (which I have set to my default view on lemmy). One of the big benefits to the federated thing is that we can see and participate in a bunch of communities at one time in a mostly easy way. Naturally there’s gonna be some overlap on topics between various servers, but I think if you just alter the way you think about it a little bit it’s not too hard to accept. (It would be nice to be able to create collections of sublemmys/magazines to group things in ways that make sense to you. Maybe that’s a thing already and I just don’t know about it.) That’s my take on it, at least!
