Five cases of malaria have been confirmed in Florida and Texas, the first time the potentially fatal mosquito-borne disease has been locally acquired in the United States in 20 years, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday.
Symptoms include fever, chills, headache, muscle pain and fatigue. Nausea, diarrhea and vomiting may also appear. Malaria can cause life-threatening damage, including kidney failure, seizures and coma.
That sounds like a medley of the worst effects of unpleasant diseases, maybe except leprosy and ebola.
sssssshhhhh don’t give Florida and Texas any ideas 💀
Presenting: Freedom Fever™️! Now with toes falling off!
Edit: I guess it can only be transmitted sexually via an alligator. That’s the floridaest transmission I could come up with.
