It’s kinda weird seeing the west coast without rain! Bloody beautiful part of the country but damn the weather was a bit miserable last time I was over there.
When the weather is on, it’s absolutely stunning over there. Rugged coastlines, disappear into mountains and glaciers, and you can see Aoraki from almost everywhere.
I unfortunately didn’t get to see Aoraki when I visited (was cloudy and raining on-and-off the whole time), got to fly a Cessna relatively close when I was a teenager but that was from out central!
