this is a great article, thanks for sharing. some of the privileges that the north receives from the UK are invaluable (such as the NHS and free/heavily subsidised education) and stand as justification for why many northerners would never want an Ireland under Dublin rule.
i don’t particularly care for identity politics in this specific regard, but if the people of the north are prepared for a unification then it’s because the republic has progressed greatly. i’m excited for that.
