i always think this point is kinda not great. dems don’t have some sort of ultimate power to do things within our government without the support of the people in positions of authority within the government. the president has more power than any one person should have, sure, but that power is not ultimate and unlimited in scope. the reality is that republicans still control a lot of shit in there, and while dems did try to pass legislation that would have stopped roe and alot of this other bullshit, the opposition had enough power to stop that from happening. and none of this is over yet, you know. none of this shit is set in stone.
alot of state level gender affirming care bans are getting fucked, Stop Cop City is a growing movement that has stymied the development of that project for years now, all this shit, regardless of how bad it gets, is something we must resist in any way we can, and especially when our movements fail to live up to our expectations. we have to try, we have to be angry, and we have to move forwards, especially in times like these.
