Just came here from reddit, making my first post. I played NMS last year for about 40hrs then kind of lost interest. Starfield looks a lot like NMS, but with a lot more content and action. Is anyone going to be trying it out?

  • I’ve moved towards caring more about the conditions under which a game was made, and knowing Bethesda’s pattern of underpaying and overworking its studios, I won’t be trying Starfield it. Learning about Redfall kind of put the nail in the coffin of me buying any games that aren’t mainline TES.

NMS has two big advantages: one is that Hello Games is an indie studio with a good reputation, and the people continuing to work on NMS are doing so because they believe in the game. Two is, much more selfishly, that it’s an amazing VR game, something Starfield doesn’t have (and likely won’t for a while, given how Skyrim VR and FO4VR worked out).
