“One thing we have really found is a place to feel comfortable being ourselves,” Dean said. Americans are segregating by their politics at a rapid clip, helping fuel the greatest divide between the states in modern history.

One party controls the entire legislature in all but two states. In 28 states, the party in control has a supermajority in at least one legislative chamber — which means the majority party has so many lawmakers that they can override a governor’s veto. Not that that would be necessary in most cases, as only 10 states have governors of different parties than the one that controls the legislature

This can only end badly as conservatives seem to have no problem ruling over land in empty states.

    • I’d start pushing for ranked choice, everyone feels alienated from their own complex understanding of the issues and feels like they have to “pick a team” rather than choose someone that suits their ideology.

      • How do we push for it though? What do we do to get it to actually be implemented, especially at a national scale rather than stuck in “let’s start local” limbo at best (people always say to start local but never seem to have a clue as to how to get past that). ~Strawberry

Encourage politicians in blue states to stop funding red states.

Blue states have the population, but that doesn’t matter to the vote. But you know what will matter? Money. If people in red states can’t fix their roads because they’ve pissed off all the blue states so much that we won’t give them money anymore , that’ll provide an incentive to vote politicians in who pass more progressive policies.

Basically, sanction them as though they were rogue states.

If you live in a blue state, I’d strongly encourage you to call your representatives and urge them to do everything they can to stop our tax dollars from being funneled into these states where hate is being promoted and accepted.
