It’s about time. There is absolutely no way that such a groundbreaking app could exist without stealing trade secrets from Twitter. The mere concept of making words appear on a screen, and somehow transmitting them to large numbers of people, is virtually inconceivable.
The real tech breakthrough here is that they have somehow (I truly cannot even begin to fathom the technical details here, but that’s why I don’t work at Meta) managed to have these text posts organize themselves into some sort of hierarchical structure with other related text posts. This is going to revolutionize the internet.
