When I went through breast cancer a couple years ago after the surgery they said I needed radiation therapy and I was so scared because radiation bad, right? Well the end result was like a really nice beautiful suntan on my breasts. But this cartoon is making me wonder again, radiation bad, right?
I think that falls under “the dose makes the poison”. It’s a tool that’s destructive to tissue, but if you use it right, it’s more destructive to the tissue that you don’t want in your body. It also depends on the type of radiation, see https://xkcd.com/3158/
