It’s coming. North America is moving in that direction by adopting the NACS plug, aka Tesla’s plug. GM, Ford, Volvo, Polestar, Chargepoint, EA, and many others have announced they will transition to NACS. Hyundai says they are “looking into it”. Ford and GM EVs will come with the NACS port starting 2025 and Tesla will produce adapters for the CCS cars that currently exist so they can use their charging network.
