it is insane to me that someone could write paragraphs like this or this and not realize they’re falling for Holmes’s shtick that allowed her to con billions of out people; but i’m also astonished every editor on this story signed off on it and didn’t step in to say, “hey, maybe the serial liar is lying and you need to rework this story?”
